Bangalore girls recently gave their best to participate in the beauty pageant, Pantaloons Miss India South 2011.
In the auditions held for the South zone finals, around 30 girls registered themselves. They were further shortlisted to 16 by Marc Robinson and Prasad Bidappa.
Needless to say, it was a tough job and on the final day there were eight girls who were selected to compete in the semi-final round being held in December. On being asked about the criteria of selection, Prasad Bidappa said, “Height is the most important factor and the girls have to be over 5 feet 7 inches. Other than that, physical appearance was also looked into and the girls also had a one-on-one interaction with the judges on the basis of which they were selected.”
The final eight, who would be competing in the semi-finals, are Nisha Barahmand, Priyanka Jaidka, Vanishree, Akanksha Chauhan, Shibha Kant, Akhila Kishore, Marissa Rodriguez and Rupinder Multani.
The girls were themselves quite excited as they strutted around in their heels getting used to their life in the next few months.

The temperature soared to a notch higher today as the finalists of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South (PFMIS) 2011 were unveiled amidst lot of fanfare at Hotel Novotel, Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
Out of the many aspiring contestants who were a part of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2011 Semi Final Round in Bangalore last week, 12 beauties finally made it to the final cut. These girls have come one step closer to living their dream of winning the crown.
The 12 finalists walked the ramp at a show choreographed by Marc Robinson (Contestant and Fashion Director, Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2011).
Speaking on the occasion, Marc Robinson said, “South India has been very promising in terms of finding good talent across fashion, entertainment and lifestyle. The 12 PFMI South 2011 finalists are an eclectic mix of beauty and brains. The next few days will be an experience of a lifetime for these girls as they will train with the best in the grooming, fashion and lifestyle business. I am sure they feel proud being a part of the Femina Miss India and aspire to be the next reigning beauty queens.”
